Patricia A. (Pat) French has been a medical writer/editor since 1989. She has worked in the pharmaceutical/device/biotech industries, academia, and nonprofit arenas, where she has developed materials for regulatory, sales, clinical, patient, and general audiences.
Before forming her own company (Left Lane Communications) in 2006, Pat held a senior communications position at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. The DCRI, the largest academic research organization in the world, had by that time conducted more than 760 Phase I–IV clinical trials, device trials, registries, outcomes studies, and quality-of-life analyses. Prior to her work at the DCRI, Pat wrote and edited regulatory submissions, in addition to monitoring Phase I and II trials, for Astra Pharmaceuticals (now AstraZeneca).
Pat’s work has appeared in peer-reviewed medical journals, national professional journals, various Web sites, newsletters, and other media. Her particular areas of expertise include cardiology and infectious disease, but her work continues to encompass numerous therapeutic areas.
